Glossary
This page defines common terms used across Armis products. While this list isn't exhaustive and some terms may not directly apply to the API, it's designed to provide clarity and a shared understanding of the concepts you'll encounter throughout our documentation.
Technical terms
ASQ (Armis Standard Query)

Boundary
A logical grouping of devices based on network connections (SSIDs, IP addresses) or device properties (name, MAC address, type) to organize and manage assets.
Collector
A component of Armis Centrix™ that passively gathers network traffic and data from various sources to identify and monitor assets without requiring agents to be installed on devices.
Device / Asset
An individual endpoint device within the network, identified by unique identifiers such as MAC or IP address, with continuously updated technical, operational, and intelligence attributes.
Integration
A component of Armis Centrix™, THE Cyber Exposure Management Platform that manages system inputs and outputs to enrich device data, connecting with various systems such as firewalls, switches, wireless LAN controllers, SIEM/syslog receivers, vulnerability scanners, and other security tools to enhance asset visibility and security management.
Site
A top-level business or industrial unit in the operational hierarchy, such as a factory, plant, or regional segment of a global organization.
Tenant
A distinct Armis Centrix™ environment or instance that represents a separate customer deployment, which can be managed and monitored through the APEX Manage portal for partners and customers who need to oversee multiple Armis environments from a centralized location.
Commercial terms

Joint Solution Brief
A co‑branded, partner‑aligned marketing document that succinctly describes an integrated technology solution developed and supported by two (or more) organizations. It adapts a traditional solution brief format—typically a 2–6 page, high‑level summary of features and benefits—to highlight how each partner’s capabilities interoperate and how the combined offering addresses specific customer challenges.
